🚀 Exciting news! I just discovered the "Rewrite with AI" feature on LinkedIn and it's a game-changer! No more second-guessing if my posts make sense or if I've used the right grammar. With AI, I can express my thoughts freely and let the technology do the rest. So here we go, my first post using the “Rewrite with AI” feature… I'm thrilled to share my experience at the Women in Tech forum event hosted at the Canva Shoreditch office yesterday evening. It was amazing to connect with inspiring women and learn about being politically savvy in the workplace. One key takeaway for me was the importance of communicating what you want. No one can read your mind, so it's crucial to express your desires. And on the flip side, we can help other women by reaching out and learning about their work. You never know what common ground you might find! I want to give a big shoutout to Angie Vaux for organising such a fantastic evening and to the wonderful speakers and panelists, Lyndsey Pereira-Brereton, Jorge Bestard, Abby Guthkelch & Marlen von Roth. You all were marvellous! #WomenInTech #Canva #RewriteWithAI

Reflecting on agreatexperience at the Women in Product Conference 2024!Over two jam-packed days, I had the privilege of diving into a wealth of knowledge and insights from incredible speakers.Joanne Jang's keynote struck a chord by addressing PM self-doubt and the importance of returning to first principles—a powerful reminder for all of us.Evelyn Gosnell's discussion on integrating psychologyinto Product design was thought-provoking. Her suggestion of incorporating small nudges to enhance user engagement left a lasting impression. The talk by Marily Nika, Ph.D, Deboshree Dutta, and Farah Akoumon AI was a perfect blend of encouragement and realism. Kristin Costas,'s 3-step model for elevating daily presence was a revelation. Jameelah Calhoun's candidness on positioning oneself irrespective of job title was refreshing and empowering—a reminder that our worth extends far beyond our official roles.Helen Lee Kupp's Gen AI workshop was adelight, offering both fun and valuable insights into the future of AI.Additionally, in the closing keynote, Khushboo Taneja underscored the importance of first principles while building AI products for Meta, further reinforcing the significance of this foundational concept across diverse domains. Also so cool to connect 1:1 with some amazing women from students to VPs, from healthcare to ecommerce and getting to know about products they’re working on. Gotta go back and catch up on missed sessions, but overall it was fantastic. “Am I too late? Hell no, we’re just getting started!” #WomenInProduct #LearningJourney #24WIP

Do You Think That Visibility Is Out Of Reach? 🧙🪄✨-One of the biggest challenges for women in tech is feeling invisible. According to Harvard Business Review, women often don’t get the recognition they deserve at work and in leadership positions. This can make it hard to advance and get noticed, especially in male-dominated tech industries or startups. On top of that, reputable journals have suggested that many women struggle with imposter syndrome, doubting their skills and feeling like they don’t belong. Here's the good news: if you can master storytelling, you can solve this problem of the lack of visibility. Impactful storytelling helps you connect with your audience, showcase your strengths, and make your message memorable. It's a powerful tool that can boost your visibility and help you stand out authentically in the tech world.Imagine the impact we can collectively make with our communities once we practise powerful storytelling on a daily basis! 💪💪💪So, here are three practical steps to make your stories powerful and memorable. (Credits to (Joy) Josephine Tan 🚀🚀🚀)1. Start with the Lesson: WHAT did you learn? This grabs attention and sets the stage.2. Share the Story: HOW did you learn it? This makes your message relatable and engaging.3. End with Impact: WHY does it matter? Highlight the importance and relevance of your story. 🧙🪄✨Exciting News from IKIGUIDE 🧙🪄✨We’re creating a Storytelling GPT to help women in tech tell our stories clearly and concisely. You can craft impactful stories with this tool and always have your message on point...all while working wayyyy less!✨ Want to Try Our Storytelling GPT? ✨DM me or leave a comment to join our beta testing. Emma Stone recently won an Oscar. Her acceptance speech was one of my favourites but there was one part that stood out.She shared her perspective of panicking before the ceremony over the possibility of winning the award. When her directory reminded her "It's not about you.""It's about the sum of parts coming together to make something bigger and better."That stood out to me because just last week I started a new newsletter.L(ai)tte - an AI newsletter for women in business. It aims to help them better utilise AI to save time and increase productivity. But I've been hesitating to share it widely because doubt crept in:- What if I fail at this?- What if I can't grow it?- What if everyone thinks I'm silly for even trying?- What if they see me as an imposter since I'm new to AI?I realised I was too in my head, much like Emma's recount. Because L(ai)tte isn't about me, it's about creating something that can:- Help women entrepreneurs understand AI, so they aren't left behind.- Enable them to utilise AI tools to save time and increase productivity.- Avoid feeling overwhelmed by the rapid AI advances.Like the award, it's not just about one person's efforts. It's the collective insight, tools, and support to empower women business owners. To thrive in this AI era that's here to stay.#newslettergrowth #aitools #smallbusiness #womeninbusiness

I recently read an inspiring article on The Prompt that underscores theimportance of inclusive designin technology. As I watch my daughter navigate through her teenage years, learning to use technology in school differently than her peers, I am reminded of how crucial it is to create technology that is accessible to everyone.Inclusive design isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a necessity. It ensures thateveryone, regardless of their abilities, can fully participate in our increasingly digital world. By prioritizing inclusivity, we can break down barriers and empower individuals to achieve their full potential.Let’s continue to advocate for and implement inclusive design in all our technological endeavors. Together, we can create a world where technology truly serves everyone. 💪🌍#Microsoft #InclusiveDesign #Accessibility #TechForGood #EmpowermentCheck out this story to learn more about the power of inclusive design.
